Andrea Asuaje is a fourth-year print journalism and English literature major at the University of Florida in Gainesville. She will be the musical director of No Southern Accent, UF’s co-ed competitive a cappella group, for the third year in a row. It’ll also be her last, as she’ll be graduating in the spring of 2010.

Aside from a cappella, Andrea was also on the staff of the Independent Florida Alligator, the country’s largest student-run newspaper, for three semesters. She has been a copy editor, a copy desk chief, a contributing writer and a metro writer for the paper, but is now focusing her energy on writing for the Florida Engineer and The Miami Herald, where she is the features intern for the summer.

I also enjoy aquariums in my free time.
Andrea enjoys singing, playing violin and guitar, long-winded British literature, literary journalism, femininity, Rock Band, Academy Award-winning films, running, her BlackBerry, Associated Press style, James Joyce, award shows, listmaking, baking, ridiculously high heels and all things print.
(She also secretly calls herself the Barack Obama of No Southern Accent.)
